Indulge @ Changi with EzCode – 1 August 2007
The month from 29 June to 31 July 2007 saw EzCode being put to a more palatable use at the Changi Airport Food Festival. In this particular implementation, the 2D barcode on the flier led you to a "Indulge at Changi" webpage on which various offers on special dishes where posted. The folks organizing the festival like to refer to this as The Daily Dining Highlight. More information on how 2D barcodes work was -and still is- found on the Changi Airport website. If you happen to be web-browsing, do make a note to look it up!
Island-wide Roadshows – 20 July 2007
There have been a series of Road Shows held island-wide to raise public awareness about the National Day celebrations. Locations have ranged from Nanyang Polytechnic, Seng Kang, Millenia Walk to name but a few. Besides raising awareness of NDF ’07, the booths were also used as a platform to educate the public about EzCode and what it’s all about. We had two of our staff on site with the NDF ’07 promoters to explain the technicalities of EzCode. As you can see, all the parties involved have really been rendering tremendous amounts of effort to get EzCode off to a good start. Kudos to them for their passion and kudos to you for giving EzCode a go!
The NDP Coupon Booklet – 15 July 2007
For those fortunate enough to be attending the National Day Festival, I’m sure the above image is familiar to you. This is the inside cover of the NDP coupon booklet. It features information on how to get started as well an example of how EzCode can be used for practical everyday activities like obtaining parking rates. The fact that the folks organizing this event saw fit for EzCode to be the first thing one sees when opening the booklet speaks volumes about their perception of the product and to what lengths they would go to inform you and the rest of Singapore about this novel idea. It would be a shame if their efforts went to waste!
EzCode at the NDP Festival – 10 July 2007
You’ll find this 2 by 1.5 metre poster at selected bus stops all over the island. At first glance the poster screams "National Day Festival ’07"; the details are left to EzCode. Snap the barcode on the poster with your onboard EzCode app and hey presto, a website containing all you need to know about the festival pops up. This is only but a snippet of this app’s potential. The NDF ’07 organizers are also closely working with McDonalds and fliers bearing this same poster image will be part of your food tray the next time you buy your Happy Meal!
